Everyone at Joe User is just so happy and fun! You have to have a sense of humor with a name like Joe User!

I was considering starting a blogsite dedicated to the discussion of marriage. I was going to call it Harry Crabs. My wife balked, so I digress.

There is really no virtual community to compare to the honest, open perspective that Joe User has. There should be more like it. This world would be a much richer, more diverse place.

I, as soooooooo many others are just grateful to be blessed by the absolute intelligence that this community offers.

Thank you so much. And to do it all for free?! Wow!

Ummmm...that would partly be my fault!! He lit the conspiracy fire and I kept coming back an' pouring on hot coals....and when it was just smouldering, almost out, I'd come back 'n throw on a few BBQ lighters and a bit 'o sagebrush to spark it along again. Come to think of it, which I do, got some kerosene and a few ol' logs laying around here somewhere. Hang on a mo'......

Oh, don't apologize. I'm enjoying this thread as a "dumping" thread, and I'm obviously not alone. This has been BEYOND fun!

Yea, kind of a bummer it is over.

Man, I didn't get this much attention when my Throbber broke.

I'm amazed this got 152 comments (153, now lol) I'd be thrilled to get half that on one of my blog posts. But, can you do it again without posting something so inflammatory?

Or will this be a "one hit wonder" showcased of VH1 this time next year?

Enjoy the points.
on Jul 14, 2006
Oh, I don't think the points are worth having this come up on search engines for as long as the site lasts. What a legacy.

"Hey, TheGuyPC just won a Nobel Price in theoretical physics!!!"

"Who?"

"You know, that guy that accused Brad of having a liberal detector..."

"OH, yeah, what a doof..."

Baker....but we are left between a rock and a hard place.

Do we leave a rant such as this public for all to see until eternity and have its absurdity a blot on the landscape to all [the site AND the poster]...

or...

Do we kill it and have the recalcitrant expound "see? I was right...we are being repressed, - bloody typical "? ...[Pythonesque] ....

The former is really the only Politic option....but alas and alack it bears ill for its author....

on Jul 14, 2006

as with all things, we'll find a bug under a rock in a couple days and become so fixated on that, we'll forget all about the thread.

Oh look...something shiny
on Jul 14, 2006
Yeah over on Tova's blog...

That shiny thing you mentioned....

This has to stop. 154, 155, 156, 157, 15...oooohhh...shiiinneeeeyyyy...

Ah, but I wasn't apologising....far from it, in fact. When I saw the opportunity to turn the ridiculous into the sublime, I was only too happy to sieze upon it. And what better than a conspiracy theory to take the piss out of, greatly embellish upon. I knew one day all those 007 and high tech espionage movies I watched would come in handy for something.

Yea, kind of a bummer it is over.

Dr Guy, haven't you heard the old saying: "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."? Well guess what! I got her gagged in a closet....so never fear, the soprano has been silenced.

Man, I didn't get this much attention when my Throbber broke.

There there, Bichur, never mind. Perhaps you shoulda pinned a Liberal campaign badge to it.

Actually yes...leaving the thread in the public domain actually disproves beyond doubt the proffered conspiracy theory...ie, censorship/political filtering is NOT alive and well. Besides, it demonstrates just what a great sport Brad is, that he and the admins are NOT pompous sticks in the mud. Essentially, then, the only blot on the landscape is the original complaint, for Brad and the site have risen above it.

Also, too late to sweep it under the carpet anyhow. This thread, like any other virus/disease (anti-biotics are useless], has mutated and evolved to have a life of its own...an entity unto itself, so to speak.

Yeah over on Tova's blog...

That shiny thing you mentioned....

Tova7....best you bring that something shiny over here! TheGuyPC is the current life of the party and this is the 'in' place to be....you know, be there or be square.
on Jul 15, 2006

be there or be square.

Be there or be rhomboid ....[much trendier shape]...
