The Name says it all

Everyone at Joe User is just so happy and fun! You have to have a sense of humor with a name like Joe User!

I was considering starting a blogsite dedicated to the discussion of marriage. I was going to call it Harry Crabs. My wife balked, so I digress.

There is really no virtual community to compare to the honest, open perspective that Joe User has. There should be more like it. This world would be a much richer, more diverse place.

I, as soooooooo many others are just grateful to be blessed by the absolute intelligence that this community offers.

Thank you so much. And to do it all for free?! Wow!

Yep, lock 'er up and remove the petty nick

Should of been locked long ago - I find the name offensive on posts that I have answered his questions politely - I resent that those posts now show I replied to this user id. I answered your posts respectfully PC - and this is not a respectful user name that I wish to be associated with.

Looks that way....I lodged a formal complaint via email and I'd say it was taken care of as a result.

No matter which way you cut it, whether you're polite to him or not, the guy is rude, arrogant and obnoxious, which is why I advocated that this and his other threads be locked/removed. He will continue to come back with more of the same because that's the nature of the beast....because he obviously derives great pleasure from being unpleasant, disrespectful to others. This is something we should not have to tolerate from him, so if exiling him isn't an option then the powers that be should at least take away his tools of trade so we're not repeatedly offended by his petty vendetta against the owner and users of Stardock/WC/Joe User.

If you think the nick is bad you should see the comments on his personal page...

No thanks! The nick was more than enough (in my book) to warrant an extended cooling off period/exile.

I have read on other threads where PC asked that this thread be locked...
Whether he derives pleasure from any of this or he believes he is truly being victimized remains to be seen....I'm not here to judge either way...

All I know is my Daddy taught me not to " poke a bear "

Locked or unlocked..does it really need to continue ?
The answer is no, yet, someone will reply...

**sage advice. Some personalities just need to operate in chaos...if there isn't any, it must be created.
***Yeah, on with WC and our community. If we want a pirate thread, or whatever, starting one with a healthy foundation would be an improvement.

Yes, but that was because he somehow thought we were ridiculing him, making a mockery of his views, business, etc. However, the admins determined that it had become a social thread which no longer had any bearing to him whatsoever and decided it could remain open. Fact is, PC made a mockery of himself with his original outburst, and the only reason the continuation of this thread gets up his nose because it is a constant reminder of his original blunder/stupidity.

Further, PC was told that if he could present me with just one logical/legitimate reason for the thread to be locked/removed, I would support him and also request its closure/removal. He did not provide that, however, so the thread remained open for those who want to play pirates....and for those not interested (those who wanted to play cowboys & indians instead), well they had the freedom of choice not to open the thread/participate, simple as that.

However, PC gave me a legitimate reason to request that this and his other threads be locked/removed when he deliberately changed his nick to be disrespectful and offensive right across the board. The nick didn't only apply to this thread, but to all those he ever created, indicating his intent was to get up the noses of the admins and the owner of WC/JU, as well as shock and offend members/users, and that is inexcusable...

We wouldn't tolerate people behaving this way in our homes and would kick 'em out, so why should we have to grin and bear it here, being this is a home away from home to many of us!

Right on, seldomseen! Let's lock this sucker up and move on.

Seconded.

We're relatively loath to lock/close/alter threads.
As much as is possible it is a sober reminder to use more sense and sensibility when choosing to go 'public' with pretty much anything.

Too often a thread or comment's removal causes more flak than it prevents.

Of course, rather than lock out people from a 'community conversation piece' [that this degenerated into] the alternative solution, that of miscreant removal, can be the preferred option...

And thus it was so.

And so it was thus.

Whatever...

Fair enough....a much happier conclusion for members/users, for WC/JU.
