This isn't a "pro" war or, "anti" war post. That's not what this is about.
This is about a friend of mine that blogs on another site. He was WIA some time back in Ramadi. He's undergone multiple surgeries, the latest within the last couple of weeks.

He's a heck of a guy. A pure hero.

I've been e-mailing with him as he goes through some of this stuff. He finally got up the nerve to write down his story and post it. He's not sure that anyone will give a damn. It's an amazing look into what US troops are enduring every day. It has 5 parts, but it's not really long (all though he thinks it is).

I seriously debated posting this here, but this is a unique opportunity to get insight on the current events.
I'm sure if you would say "hi"......or anything to acknowledge that you read his story, he would appreciate it.
He's a long ways from healed physically or emotionally. But he is true Marine to the core.
It's really worth a read. I just hope that some anti-war nut doesn't try to lay into him. He's a patriot, not a monster. Please respect that, and his sacrifice. There are other times and places to debate the war.

If you want to respond to his story here, I will make sure he sees it.

I read the link and it brought home to me the absolute horror of this war in Iraq that ought not to be faught.

Bahu, can't you put your white hot bigotry against Americans aside even long enough to honor a true hero?

I read the link and it confirmed to me the absolute necessity to put down anyone who straps a bomb on their body or plants IEDs, anyone who uses bombs for the sole purpose of killing civilians with no more thought than a diseased dog.
