Changing PNG's to Icons - Poor results
Help Please!

Hi all,
I've tried a couple of different programs to change png's (object dock icons) into .ico's. They work, but the outcome is rendered poorly. The thing is, If I take that same output and put it in my dock, it looks perfect.
Is there some way I can make these converted icons look better on my desktop?
Thanks in advance,
Corey

Good results: Use IconX. Then you don't have to change them to ico files- Just use the pngs on your desktop. https://www.stardock.com/products/iconx/

Thank You! That AveIcon worked MUCH better. I had been using Xnview, and one other (which I forget the name).
I don't really care for IconX much, but I didn't know that you could use PNG's in place of .ico's so I may have to try that again and compare the results.
Either way, it's much improved now, and I found a heck-uva freeware image convertor to boot!
Thanks For All Of Your Responses!

Does anyone know of a good help file, or thread that tells me why I cannot run Desktop X and Icon X together.
(currently running the shareware versions if that makes a difference)
I tryed out both icon editors suggested above. I can't tell the difference between the results.
Icon workshop did seem to have a little nicer interface IMO though. I don't know that this is worth the $ though being as how I'll get the icon developer for free when I purchase this stuff.

Thanks Sir Bichur.
I have the shareware at the moment so I'll likely wait to work this out as the shareware is completely fluid for me right now. (meaning it won't save settings).
I'm glad I asked though.
Funny, it should be another "Corey" that had problems. Hope that's not a sign!
